Castles and Towers in Prague

Update: Photos are now up!

Well, Meg and I have been to Prague, and are now in Berlin. We arrived in Prague late at night, and after a little bit of searching found our hostel, only to be notified that our room was actually at another hostel just across the Charles Bridge. It was a bit of a pain, but we made do, treking onwards to the address. The hostel was a bit unorthodox, really being more of a rooming house. There weren't any real services there, though we could do laundry had we desired. The location was great though, just on the east side of the Charles Bridge (a beautiful cobblestone bridge with scupltures on each side, and towers at each end). Our first day we hiked up to Prague Castle and visited it and St. Vitus Cathedral. Both were very impressive.

We then met up with Heather B, a girl who plays on Flossy (an Ottawa ulti team that Meg was a sub for this year) and had dinner and drinks with her (visiting Prague's oldest pub in the meantime).

The next morning we visited Wencelas Square, had some breakfast and visited the Jewish Museum - a collection of synagogues with the history of Czech Jewish peoples. Really moving. We then went for a more traditional Czech dinner of goulash and some meat skewers. Pretty decent before making an early night of it.

Our final full day we visited a couple of brew pubs and rode the Funicular railway up the hill. We walked through the Old Town square and admired the clock on the city hall tower before turning in.

Our last day we went and picked up some souvenirs, lunch for our train trip to Berlin and tossed Meg's disc around to give it another country in it's international voyage. We then boarded our train and made haste for Berlin where we are now... more to come on that later :)
