Changes at Nortel

By smithdm3 - Posted on 24 January 2007

Nortel is changing, the management team that CEO Mike Zafirovski has brought on is making some bold calls. Not only are executives like Joel Hackney improving our cost base and delivery efficiencies, but two additional people that Mike brought on are doing some new things now that are particularly great.
Our CMO and CTO, Lauren Flaherty and John Roese, two outsiders that have come into Nortel have teamed up to deliver the first (of what I hope are many) blog by a Nortel executive - in this case, John Roese. This is only one little example of things that are changing... these are indeed some exciting times.
Update:
I forgot about another interesting tactic that Lauren is taking, she's beginning to deploy advertising in different places than usual. For example, here's an ad for the BCM50 on YouTube. Pretty neat...

And here's a recent article in Canadian Buiness Magazine:

I heard today on the business news that Citibank in the States has upgraded Nortel's rating to "Buy," mostly due to the new management team at the company. Maybe my parents' stock isn't worthless after all!
