Newfoundland in September

Cape Spear

As August ended and my MBA was finished up (a post on that next), Meg and I had a chance to head out to Newfoundland for a week. One of my cousins was getting married and we were able to throw together attendance at the wedding with a trip to across the rock. The trip was great, albeit to brief.

We spent the first weekend of our stay with my parents, sister, brother-in-law and two nieces at a cottage rental place. Also staying there were my two sets of aunts, uncles and cousins from PEI so it was a bit of a family reunion for that side of the family, something that we hadn't had a chance to be part of in a couple of years. Some of my east coast family was able to make it out for both my sister's and my wedding and Meg and I visited PEI In 2009, but we don't really get to see them as often as we would like.

After the weekend the rest of the family left and Meg and I began a trip across the province that included sea kayaking in Gros Morne, some hiking, a trip up to Twillingate (where sadly it was too windy to go out looking for whales), a night in Trinity where we saw a play and a long weekend in St. John's.

I'd write more, but really, Meg put up an update long ago, one that is much better than this one and so I'll just link it here in case you don't follow her.
